As a Manager of Games Moderation, you will be jumping in at the very beginning of this adventure. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the legal, operational, and policy issues associated with moderating user-generated content and player interactivity. This is a highly cross-functional role. You will work closely with Security, Customer Service, and the Games organization to help develop and implement our global moderation strategy. You will serve as the legal liaison for moderation issues and be responsible for setting policies, analyzing and resolving escalations. You will also collaborate with a variety of cross-functional teams to ensure that our approach to moderation is thoughtful, context-sensitive, scalable, and continuously aligned with Netflix's culture, and industry best practices. The role is part of the legal org. and can be based in either Los Angeles or Los Gatos. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, implement, and analyze the effectiveness of UGC moderation policies and standard operating procedures - design guidelines, runbooks, appeals process, and edge-case scenario planning; Collaborate and drive alignment with a broad range of partner teams such as Customer Trust, Public Policy, PR, Product, and Legal to reach consensus on policy issues. Serve as the legal point of contact for all moderation escalations. Review, respond, and maintain accurate data regarding the volume and types of moderation escalations for reporting purposes and to drive policy improvements; Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex moderation issues and resolve high-profile escalations from users, media, government, and internal stakeholders; Partner with CS, moderation teams, and developers to monitor and gather data from tickets to make necessary adjustments to moderation workflows and policies and ensure we are providing the best in-game experience possible; Work closely with CS and engineering teams to help with the requirements, use cases, and testing of different moderation tools and workflows. QUALIFICATIONS 7
years of experience working in policy, legal, regulatory, compliance, or trust & safety handling issues involving user-generated content in games or other online platforms. Proven experience in content moderation operations, including both crafting and enforcing policies. Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas concisely and clearly and to solve problems collaboratively and proactively. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability to effectively analyze data, regulatory requirements, and product limitations. Expert understanding of operational metrics, and strong experience analyzing and using data to identify the root cause of problems, translating trends into actionable insights, and delivering process improvements at scale. Self-starter, resilient, and passionate about keeping our community safe. Previous experience handling complex escalations and communicating with leadership during crisis management situations. Fluent and eloquent written English is required. Extra points if you are fluent in other languages such as Japanese, Korean, German, French, Italian, Turkish, or Russian.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Design & UXEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
